I Can Only Imagine 2

We did a thing last night. Let me start by saying if you have not seen I Can Only Image 2, it is a MUST-see movie. For me, movies don’t move me much emotionally but this one left me crying. Not because anything bad happens but because it is our story. Not about the music (that would be cool) but about walking through dark valleys for long periods of time without hope. You can find more information on the movie here: https://icanonlyimagine.com/. Be sure to go see this, you will be moved!

So back to our thing, Tim Timmons’ story is that he draws the X on his wrist daily to remind him of his gratitude for another day; to remind him to live in the moment where his grief intersects his gratitude. He says, “God is in the fire bro, and it’s beautiful.” There is so much truth in that statement!

We saw the movie on a Saturday night and the next morning, I was singing on the worship team at church. I wrote the X and was super excited to share it with people when they asked. However, I quickly found that taking a breath to sing that had the scent of sharpie was a bit too challenging (I had to be awkward and hold my mic with my other hand). So, I decided to make it a permanent thing along with Cindy. We’ll still see it every day and it will guarantee we remember to be grateful for every day even in the grief we walk through.
